Welcome to Asheville Lofts & Condos
Urban Living & Loft Style
Since the early nineteen-nineties, a renewed interest in urban revitalization has spiked the number of loft and condo projects in major urban areas all around the country. Downtown Asheville is no exception. A number of lofts cropping up in the Asheville area are new construction, but some of the most interesting projects are happening in dilapidated historic retail and residential spaces all around downtown.
What exactly is a loft? Essentially, a loft is very similar to a condominium. Like a condo, a loft is typically a portion of a property owned separately from the other units in a building. Additionally, the common areas are usually maintained by the homeowners association. Lofts are known for expansive rooms, open layouts-- sometimes without any separation between living areas. Architectural elements like exposed ducting, brick, old timber, concrete and high ceilings, add to the urban feel of loft living.
Asheville - The Land of the Sky
While such a picturesque nickname conjures up mythical images of a city in the clouds, the reality of Asheville does not disappoint. Bestowed upon the city by an 1876 novel of the same title, Asheville has become a Mecca of the twenty-first century while maintaining the ambiance of another era. Referred to as the "happiest place in the United States" by author Eric Weiner in his 2008 publication The Geography of Bliss, Asheville is enjoying a resurgence of energy in both professional and leisure opportunities that make it a major contender for cities on the rise. The experts at Asheville Lofts and Condos have had a finger on the pulse of this revitalization from the beginning, and remain at the forefront of real estate and community knowledge.
